Post-production of the Documentary Bialiatski / Unbroken

The documentary BIALIATSKI / UNBROKEN is dedicated to Belarusian human rights defender and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski.

A grant under Track 2 of ArtPower Belarus enabled an international team, including Belarusian creatives, to complete the film’s post-production, including editing, sound design, and colour grading.

The film portrays Ales Bialiatski through the stories of his close ones and colleagues, as well as through archival materials and testimonies from different countries. Central to the narrative are themes of solidarity, human dignity, and resistance, extending far beyond the Belarusian context and becoming part of a broader global conversation on human rights. A particularly unique element of the film is its portrayal of the first minutes and days following Bialiatski’s release in December 2025.

This is not only a documentary about one individual, but also a story about a community that continues to resist, support one another, and maintain connections even under conditions of isolation.

The creators plan to bring the film to international festivals and screenings in order to raise awareness of the situation in Belarus and to deepen understanding of the long-standing work of Belarusian human rights defenders.
